Acupuncture

A Chinese medical technique using the insertion of needles into points along energy meridians (channels) to effectively treat chronic and acute diseases and dysfunctions of the body.

Acupressure

Ancient Chinese technique to stimulate or reduce energy flow along meridians (channels) for the purpose of relieving pain or normalizing the functions of the body.

Exercise Consultation

Facilitates the achievement of fitness and performance goals through individual and specific lifestyle and exercise program suggestions. Improvement can be achieved regardless of initial fitness or ability level.

Neuromuscular Integration Structural Alignment (NISA)

NISA is based on “Soma Therapy”. A softened version of Rolfing. NISA works to stretch, free and soften the facia, the fibrous connective tissue beneath the skin or around muscles and other organs of the body. This enables the layers of fascia to regain their elasticity and fluidity, permitting improved alignment and body mechanics.

Ocular Treatment

Indications:

  • Eye fatigue
  • Headache
  • Dryness in eyes
  • Puffiness around eyes
  • Sinus congestion

Procedures:

Special formulated herbal patch will be placed on each eye while the person is in a supine position on the massage table. The therapist will massage the acupoints around the eye areas to eliminate or reduce the symptoms. The herbal patches will be left on the eye areas for 20 minutes or longer while the therapist continues to work on other areas of the person’s body.

Moxa Patch

Indications:

  • Muscle soreness
  • Chronic muscle pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Acute pain due to injuries

Procedures:

At the end of a massage session, the moxa patch may be taped on the particularly achy areas to improve the circulation, vascular and chi, and help with the healing process. The moxa patch contains special herbs and magnetic elements and once unsealed, will generate a low temperature to activate the properties of the ingredients. This warmth will last for 8 to 10 hours. Additional patches may be purchased for home use.

Moxa patches may be used for preventive and maintenance purposes, and may be used daily to reduce body aches, and to enhance one’s yang energy.

OnSite Chair Massage

A 15 minute seated massage applied through clothing. Based on a traditional style of Japanese acupressure, this massage is ideal for the work place, leaving one relaxed, refreshed and re energized.

Pre and Post Natal Massage

Moms to be can use massage therapy as a means of reducing the stress and discomfort of a growing baby. We can relieve the pain and swelling associated with pregnancy and new moms can enjoy a speedier recovery from labour and delivery by post natal massage.

Reflexology

The art of manipulating the reflexes of the feet and hands. These reflexes are associated to every part of the body. Stimulating these zones gives the body an ability to heal itself, creating a sense of well being.

Relaxation Massage

Applying massage techniques such as effleurage, petrissage and trigger point release to relieve accumulated stress, this in turn creates a sense of relaxation and well being. It promotes a higher degree of tranquillity and vitality, and reduces muscle tension and fatigue.

Pre and post event massage can be applied to reduce the potential of injuries, enhance athletic performance, and increase recovery rate from competition and injuries.

The application of massage and other techniques including exercises to enable the client to recover from acute and chronic injuries. This enhances greater tissue health, eases pain and promotes function of muscles, joints and other tissues.

Trager® & Mentastics Movement
This subtle, rhythmic form of body work explores our capacity to move freely, effortlessly and gracefully. Utilizing light gentle non intrusive movements, areas of tension, holdings, and blockage are encouraged to feel their natural state of liquidity and elasticity. As each part of the body responds with greater freedom and ease movement becomes whole and the experience is one of unity.

Mentastics Movement
is a system of simple effortless movement sequences, to maintain and enhance the sense of lightness, freedom, and flexibility that is instilled by the Trager approach. Clients can use these movements as a basic approach to movement in everyday life, for daily stress relief, to gradually release and reverse negative results of the past, chronic stress and restrictive patterns.

Trauma and Abuse Recovery
Individuals recovering from abuse or trauma can benefit from the efforts of a massage therapist who gently and progressively helps them to reconnect with their body by learning to receive and experience touch in a safe, nonthreatening way.

Trigger Point Therapy
This modality focuses on the reduction of direct or referred pain within muscles and other soft tissues. The therapist will use a variety of massage techniques and stretches to achieve the release of muscle tension which causes pain and discomfort. This can help to build muscle strength, increase flexibility and the range of motion of the joints.
